Chris Grayling reveals ambitious plan to turn London’s Nightingale Hospital into a conference centre

Former secretary of State for Transport Chris Grayling, has unvelied an ‘ambitious’ plan to turn the Nightingale hospital in London into a conference centre. The hospital was quickly constructed in March in the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak, but has not been needed as anticipated. Yesterday it was announced that the facility is to be stood down.

“It’s a shame to have a facility like that and not have it put to some good use.” Mr Grayling who returned to the back bench’s for his own safety in 2019 said as he unveiled his plan. “I’d hate it to become a white Elephant. It might seem crazy and over-ambitious, but I’m a man of vision. I can see the space being used for conferences and exhibitions in the future.”

The Bugle understands that Mr Grayling sees his ‘big idea’ as the first step in his political rehabilitation, hopefully leading to a return to frontline politics in the near future.
