Barnsley fans demand games be played behind closed doors

Fans of Barnsley FC have launched a campaign to demand that all the team’s home games for the rest of the season be played behind closed doors. The demand comes in the wake of news that all Sierra A games in Italy will be played in empty stadiums for the next month in an attempt to contain the Coronavirus.

“We got the idea from Italy, but it’s nowt to do with Coronavirus” Andy Dingle from the supporters club told The Bugle “We’ve been absolute shite all season and playing behind closed doors would give the fans a bit of a break. When you’ve bought a season ticket you feel like you should go to get your moneys worth, but it’s agony. “

As The Bugle went to press, a petition supporting the move had already attracted three signature’s and over ten thousand X’s.
