Barnsley Motor Cycle Calming Scheme Hailed As ‘Partial Success’

A scheme to protect Barnsley woodland from motorcyclists was hailed as a partial success this week. The implementation of the scheme follows concern from local residents about youths taking motor cycles into woodland areas rendering them dangerous for walkers and doggers.

A spokesperson for the council told The Bugle. “I’m delighted to report that we have been 100% successful in preventing local motorcyclists from entering the wooded area. Unfortunately those intent on causing trouble appear to be thinking one step ahead of us and are now using cars. It’s a problem we’ll be addressing at our next meeting.”

As The Bugle went to press, the jury was still said to be out on whether the council or the local trouble makers are most stupid.
