Pensioner Apparently Surprised By Need To Pay For Shopping

An 80 year old woman was apparently surprised by the need to pay for her supermarket shopping at the checkout this morning.

Mollie Gadger from Rotherham arrived at the checkout in her local Asda with a full trolley. After carefully loading her shopping on to the conveyor, she updated the cashier on the recent achievements of each of her 14 grand children before slowly packing everything into bags.

When presented with the bill she looked temporarily stunned before removing items from her now overstuffed shopping bag in an attempt to recover a purse lurking at the bottom. She then said “How much did you say love?” Before counting the exact amount out in notes and coins secreted in various compartments within the purse.”

Tim Smith, who was the first of ten people behind Molly in the queue said “I wanted to kill her. Not quickly, but really slowly so she knew exactly what she’d done. It’s not like me, but that’s how it gets you.”

As The Bugle went to press, Molly had moved on to the Post office and was complaining bitterly about the time an 85 year old man was taking to pay his electricity bill
