Knightley To Pitch ‘Shagging Cinderella’ To Disney

Actress Keira Knightley is understood to have written a script for a new version of Cinderella, which she intends to pitch to Disney. The news comes in the wake of an interview this week on the Ellen Degeneres show, in which Knightley said that she had banned her daughter from seeing a number of Disney films because they are sexist.

The Bugle has seen an extract from Keira’s script, and can share some details here. In the new version of the film, Cinderella goes to the ball but refuses to dance with the prince after deciding he’s a bit of a minger. After drinking heavily, she propositions a burly Rugby player type and the pair have a rough knee trembler in the carriage park. He offers to take her home, but she declines, saying she’ll make her own way. By this point she is somewhat dishevelled and embarks on the walk of shame wearing  one shoe and with her dress tucked into her knickers. A group of men hurl abuse and she threatens to “chop their bollocks off “As they back off she throws up over a minor palace hedge. Eventually she arrives home and falls asleep on the toilet.

A spokesperson for Disney said they were aware of the script, but were reserving judgement until they’d read it in full. “While Ms Knighley’s Cinderella is undoubtedly somewhat more independent than the traditional interpretation, were not sure it’s quite right for our audience,” he said.

Undeterred by the lukewarm response, Knightley is understood to be pressing on with the project and has already drawn up a short-list of actors to play the ugly brothers.
