Woman Who Went Overboard Off Cruise Ship ‘Just Trying To Escape Onboard Entertainment.’

A British woman rescued from the sea after disappearing overboard from a Norwegian cruise ship between Vargarola and Venice, jumped overboard to avoid the onboard cabaret it has emerged.

Kay Longstaff, 46, went overboard some time around midnight on Saturday night somewhere in the Adriatic, and at first it was thought she must have slipped or fallen. But after being picked up by the Croatian coastguard, the truth began to slowly emerge.

“I’d been on there for 10 days and just couldn’t take any more.” she told her rescuers “If I see one more shit magician or failed auditionee from Britain’s Got Talent I’ll puke. The final straw came when they wheeled out some geriatric comedian whose claim to fame was that he’d appeared in panto with Bernie Clifton in 1976. I decided to swim for it, but a watery grave seemed like a blessed release no matter what.”

As The Bugle went to press, Ms Longstaff had arrived in the Croatian town of Pula and was vigorously resisting all attempts to reunite her with the ship.
