Outrage As Gender Pay Gap At Manchester Company Tops 7,000%

Gender pay equality activists were outraged this morning after it was revealed that the gender pay gap at one Manchester company – the difference between the wages paid to men and women – tops 7,000%.

Harriet Munter from the Fair Pay Alliance told The Bugle “This is an absolute disgrace. Women are being paid a fraction of their male counterparts, despite working longer hours and with fewer benefits. Discrimination…blah blah blah…pregnancy…blah blah blah…child care provision…blah blah blah. It’s unfair and something needs to be done.  Blah…hot air…blah.”

One of the men at the company, Kevin, who asked us not to give his full name said “Well if a woman can come and do my job, she  deserves to be paid what I’m paid. But it’s unlikely.  Many of the men who work here are migrants, like me, who have come here to make a better life for themselves.”

Another migrant who identified himself as Sergio, travelled all the way from south America just so he could afford to buy his own private jet. “These women need to get real” he told The Bugle. “I travelled thousands of miles to make a decent living. If they have valuable skills, they could do the same – either that or tap off with one of the blokes at work.”

As The Bugle went to press equality activists had turned their attention to another  Manchester company where it was revealed that one male Spanish employee is being paid more than all the female staff combined, despite joining the company as recently as January, and only working part-time.
