Thrybergh Mum’s Foo Yung Fury.

A 27 year old woman from Thrybergh with breathing problems was left fuming after being asked to leave the Ho Fat Chinese restaurant on Effingham Street last Thursday. Mum of five Tracey Large, who walks with the aid of a stick,  had gone to the popular restaurant with friends to celebrate a maintenance award against one of her children’s fathers.

“Thursday, is All-You-Can-Eat night,” explained Tracey who suffers from Diabetes, “so we always like to go then. Anyway, we were having a good night, I’d just finished my fifth pint of lager and was going back for a fourth helping of  prawn foo yung when the manager came over and asked me to leave. He said I’d eaten enough. Yes, I’ve got a decent appetite but this is disgusting.”

Tracey, who is currently waiting to have a gastric band fitted, decided to take her complaint to The UK Association Of Chinese Restaurants, but then realised no such organisation exists, and  approached  The Bugle instead. When we contacted the restaurant for a response, we received the following statement from manager Tony Chan

“At the Ho Fat we are committed to ensuring that all our customers have an enjoyable experience. Our All-You-Can-Eat offering on  Thursday’s allows us to cater for all appetites at a single price point. We are happy for all customers to eat as much as they require and we place no limits on consumption due to economic or other reasons. But Jesus H Christ, when you’re chucking your ring up over the Lazy Susan it’s time to call it a day.”

Tracey was unrepentant last night, “I was just making room” she said, “You’ve got to make room if you’re going to have a good night. I’ve never been treated like this in Wetherspoons.”
