Man City Make Bid For Conor McGregor In Advance Of Champions League Second Leg

Moneybags Manchester City have made a late bid for UFC fighter Conor McGregor to join the club prior to their Champions League quarter final second leg tie against Liverpool at The Ethiad.

Liverpool took a three- goal lead in the first leg at Anfield this week, but the event was marred after Liverpool fans attacked and wrecked the City team bus prior to the game. It was a tactic that clearly worked, and Pep Guardiola, the City manager renowned for learning from the tactics of other teams, is understood to be keen to explore the possibilities.

The bid for McGregor comes after the mixed martial arts champion  was charged with assault by New York police last night,  after he and a number of other men attacked the bus carrying  rival fighters. Footage appears to show McGregor throwing a trolley at the bus and smashing a window, followed by further altercations.

An insider at City told The Bugle, “While we can’t expect to match the destructive power of a group of scally Scousers, a top UFC fighter and his mates is probably the next best thing. We’ve not given up on reaching the semi’s yet.”
