Russia report delayed again as Grayling sends it to a printer with no paper

In an act of political genius, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has engineered a further delay in the ‘Russia Report’ by appointing Chris Grayling to oversee its publication.

The parliament’s  intelligence and security committee produced a report into alleged Russian interference in UK politics last year. It was meant to be published before December’s election, but the Mr Johnson withheld its release. Now, six months later it still hasn’t seen the light of day and appointing Grayling is seen as a shrewd move to ensure that state of affairs continues.

“What you have to remember is Grayling is the man who awarded a ferry contract to a company with no ships,” a Number 10 insider told The Bugle “and sure enough he hasn’t let us down on this. He’s already awarded the publication contract to a company with no paper. They were the cheapest though, so we’re quids in and no report on the horizon. So double bubble.”

As The Bugle went to press, Mr Johnson  said that he had every confidence that Mr Grayling would do the job expected of him.
