Troy Deeney’s refusal to return absolutely not connected to fear of relegation…no siree Bob

Watford striker Troy Deeney’s refusal to return to training is absolutely in no way connected to the fact that his Watford team are one place above the relegation zone and might escape by the skin of their teeth if the season is abandoned, it has emerged.

A team spokesperson confirmed that it is pure coincidence that three Watford players have now tested positive for Coronavirus and the only player in the league who has openly said he won’t return doesn’t play for Liverpool or some other team in with a shout of winning something, rather than one more likely to be playing Rotherham next season.

“Troy is making a stand for health reasons” the spokesperson told The Bugle. “Yes he’s a young, fit man built like a brick shit house but he’s worried for his family. It has been suggested that a solution might be to do his f****** job and temporarily isolate from his family like a lot of workers have had to do. But the thing is, he’s on £50,000 a week, and so why should he.”

As The Bugle went to press, the buses and trains were still running and Deeney could still shop in his local Tesco.
