Female astronaut returns from 328 days in space to find breakfast pots still in sink

American astronaut Christina Koch parachuted down to earth from the International Space Station this morning after completing the longest-ever single spaceflight by a woman, only to find that the breakfast pots are still in the sink.

Koch has spent 328 days in space, leaving husband Robert at their Florida home. A family friend confirmed that the remnants of the porridge she ate on the day of departure are now fused irreversibly to the bowl, and her coffee cup is growing some, as yet, unidentified mould.

“I just got watching TV and the days got away from me.” said an unapologetic Robert as we caught up with him as he dismantled a motor cycle carburettor on the dining room table. I was going to do the pots later on but she’s just come in with the face on. I daren’t even ask what she’s doing for tea at the moment. I’ll wait ‘till she’s in a better mood.”

As The Bugle went to press Christina was understood to be considering an attempt on the record for the fastest return to the International Space Station.
