Ryanair To Introduce One Man Operated Flights By 2021

Budget airline Ryanair have announced that they will be running their fleet of aircraft on a one-man-operated basis from 2021. The move is the latest in a whole range of economy measures designed to cut costs and make the airline more competitive.

A leaked document seen by The Bugle, reveals that there will be no co-pilot on board Ryanair flights after April 2020, and by mid 2021, all flights will be running without cabin crew, with their duties being taken up by the solo pilot.

Speaking off the record, an insider told The Bugle, “On the face of it, this might look a bit dangerous, but we’ve thought it through. Pilots rarely become incapacitated during a flight and planes practically fly themselves anyway apart from the take off and landing bit. So our pilots will have plenty of time mid-flight to whip down the cabin to flog some sarnies, booze and duty frees. In the event of a pilot going down with the Bombay trots, a heart attack or something serious, there’s always someone on board who’s a dab hand on the old computer simulator, so no worries.”

The company are expected to invest some of the savings in additional ground staff tasked with scrutinizing passenger paperwork and luggage for any minor errors or transgressions which can be charged for at a punitive rate.
