Little Mix Promoters Resist Temptation To Tell Deaf Mum To Piss Off

Promoters of  hit band Little Mix, have resisted the temptation to tell a deaf mum who thinks the world revolves around her to go and stuff it where the sun don’t shine.

Sally Reynolds booked tickets for two deaf friends and their normally-hearing primary school daughters to attend a Little Mix concert last September, and demanded an interpreter so that they could all experience the bands deep and meaningful lyrics together (See below). When the party got to the concert and Little Mix took to the stage their lyrics were interpreted for Reynolds and her friends by a specialist interpreter from the company Performance Interpreting. However, the concert had started with two supporting acts and the interpreter had not been booked to cover them.

Reynolds, who is clearly well versed in the exact wording of the Equality Act 2010 said “I felt that we were really part of the Little Mix experience, but because it was so good I realised that we had missed out on the first two acts. So it was very much a disparity of experience compared with everyone else. I wanted to share the same experience my daughter had – essentially I just wanted access to the songs.””

Reynolds is now issuing legal proceedings for the failure to make reasonable adjustments, in the form of supplying an interpreter, for the whole concert.

A spokesperson for the promoters made all the right noises about the event being inclusive and going the extra mile to ensure the party had an enjoyable experience. She totally avoided stating either implicitly or expressly that the woman is a trouble-making opportunist of the highest order who  is just being a dick about it,  that Little Mix lyrics, which feature such issues as the quality of sex and faking orgasms, aren’t something a responsible mother should be sharing with her 7 year old daughter,  or that being deaf at a Little Mix concert might actually be an advantage for which she should  have been asked to pay extra.

Nor did she make the suggestion that if Reynolds really wanted to share the same experience with her daughter in an age appropriate manner, she should buy her a set of ear defenders.

Shout Out To My Ex – Little Mix (Verse 1)

This is a shout out to my ex
Heard he in love with some other chick
Yeah yeah, that hurt me, I’ll admit
Forget that boy, I’m over it
I hope she gettin’ better sex
Hope she ain’t fakin’ it like I did, babe
Took four long years to call it quits
Forget that boy, I’m over it
