Cricketer Caught Tampering With The Ball Asks For Several Counts Of Fiddling With The Middle Stump To Be Taken Into Consideration

The Australian cricketer who admitted tampering with the ball last week, asked for multiple counts of fiddling with the middle stump to be taken into consideration when he appeared before a  Cricket disciplinary panel this morning.  Cameron Bancroft had been spotted ball tampering, during the test match between  South Africa and Australia last week, but the transgressions with the middle stump had gone largely undetected.

“The two tend to go together,” an insider told us,  “and all credit to Cameron for owning up. It’s a long season away from home, and there’s really not much to do with your hands out in the field between overs. The temptation is always there.”

The Bugle understands that one penalty under consideration is that Bancroft  will have  his pockets sewn up and be forced to wear wicket keeping gloves for the rest of the tour – even back at the team hotel. It’s understood that medically monitored supplementation of the team’s tea supplies has already started.
