Alan Stubbs Chooses Club Christmas Tree

Alan Stubbs may have been sacked as Rotherham United manager over a month ago, but The Bugle understands that his last job before leaving the club was to choose the club Christmas Tree which stands  forlornly in front of the stadium. Although we haven’t had this officially confirmed, selection of the tree (pictured) has all the hallmarks of the Stubbs reign.

Stubbs appears to have been last in the shop – rumoured to be in Nottingham – and had to make do with a damaged and lopsided tree that was past its best. Having got it to the club, all attempts to breathe some life into it seem to have failed. There’s the occasional sign of light here and there, but it’s mainly dark and the end result is embarrassing and disappointing. The Bugle understands that Stubbs has signed a 3 year contract for the tree, but it’s widely expected that it will be transported to Bury before the next festive season.

We tried to contact club chairman Tony Stewart, who ironically owns one of the countries foremost lighting companies for comment, but he was understood to be on a private visit to Wentworth Garden Centre.
